Hey Cailin, this is really kickass! I love the classic tattoo aesthetic you've got going on and I love how her curvy body shifts back and forth to show movement. She feels like she's full of energy! The limited palette you chose reminds me of classic comics and I think that evocation definitely works for this type of character.
I know you love your copics, but I kind of wish I could see more line variation in your work. I think the technical pen you're using takes some of the energy out of your work and makes it slightly less vivacious. I'd also love to see some sort of difference in the width of her silhouette at the point where her shorts meet her thighs and her boots meet her calves.
I think that the expressions you drew for her on the right feel more free and confident than your main piece on the left, and I think that might be because you were less hesitant with your line work.
Overall, I think this is one of my favourite pieces I've seen you do in class! It looks like you enjoyed it and that definitely shows!
I absolutely love her shape -- she's so much fun to look at, I'd love to see her movement through comic panels. A part of me also really likes the idea of her changing outfits. Kind of like "What will she wear next??" kind of excitement~
She's quite obviously fierce and sassy, I love her facial expressions you have here. I wonder what she'd look like really angry, though.

Kat- Line variation is something I've been working on lately, it's kind of hard for me sometimes. I've tried experimenting alot more with it this year. Maybe I need more pens! But I guess I shouldn't bame my tools. :P
Erin- I haven't ever drawn her super pissed off... Maybe I can have her transform, sprout wings and spit acid or something. :)
Great character design! I love the idea of tying her in with some American mythology. I can see a whole world full of these gothy/rockabilly characters all based on cryptids. Her side-kick needs to be a motorcycle-drivin' hoopsnake.
Anyways, I think the flat colors work in this case, because it seems to work well for the stylistic approach. HOwever, it feels like some parts never got any color to begin with: the eyes, the band-aid, the side hair-sweeps. even if the intention is that these things are "white", it is better in a case like this to actually give those things an off-white or biege or gray treatment of some sort, since the flatness of the color approach may make it seem like you just forgot to color those areas, and instead save your white for things like the reflection on her gloves, etc.
I also think maybe her skin tone could have been a bit more reddish. I assume you have seen "Coops" work, with his devil girls... which is not to say it needs to be THAT color red, but a bit more reddish hue might just help sell the "devil" aspect a little more.
I also think her hair could potentially be jet black as well, but I would experiment with it digitally first to see if it works.
I really love the little personality skecthes. She is a great design and I hope you think about expanding her world by doing more with her in the future. Nice job!
