Mika-

Ruby is a lot of fun. I think she was a challenging character, but I think you pulled it off pretty nicely.

I love the little animation sketches. It really sets up her movement and personality nicely.

The color is nice, though I think you could be bolder with your color choices, they seem to be a bit timid and reserved, and a little desaturated.

The other issue for me is the close up of her head. The little movement sketches really make her feel like a little girl, but I feel like the face feels bit too mature. Drawing children is not an easy thing. I think you would have benefitted from really diligent reference gathering of images of little girls faces. The lines on children's faces are very pronounced and smooth, and have a flow to them that you lose as you get older. I would love to see you take a pass at this before the end of the class.

Great design though, I think the direction you took your "interesting object" as inspiration was very unique!

Coolness!
