Step 05: Now you should have a Photoshop file that has an empty background layer, and a layer with your drawing on it such that it does not contain any white information. Convert the image to an RGB file. Then create at least one new layer underneath the "Drawing" layer, and at least one more over top of the Drawing layer for your details and highlights. 

Step 06: Now paint in a base/neutral color on the lowest layer possible, or just one above the Background layer if you prefer to work this way. Whatever you paint on this layers should show through the drawing. Try to think about the overall color scheme when choosing your base color. Maybe try a complimentary color to whatever will be the prevailing color themes.
Step 07: Now you can start laying in some color on the layers underneath the drawing layer. Don't go too bright or saturated with the colors yet.
