I did a quick mockup of my environment in 3dsMax this afternoon, just to get an idea of how it should look and where the shadows should fall on the buildings. I'll start the redo in Photoshop soon.
I think zooming out when you paint (like in the screen John posted) will look better, and you can include more and more stuff, like ridiculous banners and stands. I really loved those balloons. Also, if you decide to crop out a screen in the end, you'll know what the environment looks like off the page.
